Passive House (Passivhaus) homes utilise a tried-and-test methodology to provide buildings with high levels of comfort and which use very little energy for heating and cooling, which has huge benefits for health, wellbeing and energy security.
A Passive House must meet stringent performance targets and requires careful consideration of the design and quality assurance during its construction. It is therefore recommended that you use a Certified Passive House Designer, who has demonstrated their knowledge and experience, as well as an experienced contractor to ensure that the building meets the requirements and performance as intended.

What are the benefits of a Passive House?
Comfort & Health: In a Passive House, comfortable temperatures are constantly maintained whatever the weather is doing, whilst using very little energy. Careful consideration of the orientation, shading and detailed modelling also ensures that you keep cool during the summer. High-quality windows, more insulation and no draughts mean no cold spots, no mould and no condensation.
Fresh Air: A Passive House has constant clean, fresh air. The ventilation systems ensure that air is purified and pollutants are kept out. Despite some misconceptions about Passive Houses, you can also open the windows to let the outside in and hear the birds!
Sound-Proof: A Passive House is peaceful and quiet, no matter what is happening outside. High-quality construct, insulation and components mean that you won't disturb the neighbours (and they won't disturb you!)
Energy Cost Savings: A Passive House offers huge reductions in energy usage and energy security, meaning savings from year 1, which will only increase over the lifetime of the building.
